How to get to Braga

 How to get from Porto to Braga and How to get from Lisbon to Porto (Lisbon-Braga)

From Porto to Braga

 

By air

 

The nearest airport to Braga is the Sá Carneiro International Airport (in Porto), around 50 Km away from Braga.

 

Bus lines number 604 and 600 take you from the airport to Porto centre (every 20 minutes). The bus line number 601 connects the airport to Porto centre, only during the night. A one-way ticket costs 1,30 Euro.

 

You can also choose to take the Subway (Metro) (http://www.metrodoporto.pt). Line E (Violet) connects the airport to one of Porto’s Train Stations (Campanhã) and/ or the bus station (Trindade). The trip takes approximately 25 minutes and it will cost you 1,35€.

 

From the city centre there is a number of possibilities for you to get to Braga.

 

By bus


From the centre of Porto you may take a bus to Braga at Rua Alfredo Magalhães, where the Bus Station to Braga is located.

 

By train


At the Campanhã Station (http://www.cp.pt), located in the city of Porto, it is possible to catch a train to Braga, at the following hours (monday to Friday):

By taxi

 

Should you wish to take a taxi from the airport to Braga, the journey takes approximately 40 minutes to Braga and the fare is around 45 Euros /60 Euros.

 

 

From Lisbon to Porto (Lisbon-Braga)

By train
From Lisbon Airport you must catch the train at station Estação Oriente, which is about 3km distance (10min by car ou taxi).

If you wish to take public transport to Estação Oriente, it will take about 20min, by bus (CARRIS). You need to walk to Av. de Berlim - Aeroporto (about 4 mins) and take the Bus - 44 – Moscavide (Quinta das Larangeiras) towards Quinta das Laranjeiras. The journey takes about 7min, 5 stops. Then just walk to Estação Oriente (about 8 min). 

At the Estação Oriente it is possible to catch a train to Porto or to Braga. The Alfa Pendular train is the fastest and more confortable way. The journey  from Lisbon to Porto takes about 2h35m. A one way ticket costs around 30€ (2nd class) to 42€ (1st class).  This is the timetable of the departure times from Estação Oriente.
